What an amazing game! couldn't get past level 1-9 though haha

neither lol

Amazing! Really pleasant experience.
the jump feels a little rough and I experienced a little lag in the last level, getting stuck on the wall.

Overall it was an amazing experience man, congrats!

I absolutely loved this game, by the time the game finished I was just starting to really get into it

Hey, love the game, but I had one weird bug/problem, when I tried to download the exe file. I couldn't move, just shoot, when I used a/d or my controller it would just show the shooting pose/animation, no walking/running :( .

uhm the game is a bit Quiet so you could make some more music for it

Is this game going to be developed more?

It's very good if you released this game on switch it would be awesome.

Tried V1. Really nice game, left me with an itch for more levels. Took me a little to get the hang of the shard's working, but once I got it, I was able to move faster and avoid enemies attacks easier. As some mentioned, movement feels a bit floaty, after you teleport to the shard there's some momentum to the character. I like the art style. If you ask me what I would add to the game, it would be a fast level auto-start, and not asking for confirmation after dying. Hope to see more from this game, I truly liked it.

Wow you've done a good job with this :D Really like the shard mechanic and the art style is great. I feel like the movement could be a little tighter and I think the difficulty curve could be improved but other then that it's awesome! You could definitely release this as a full game with more levels and some tweaking ;)

What I liked about the jam version was, that it was centered around the shard and the tone was relaxing. However, you did need to execute the throws correctly, because you couldn't recall the shard; creating the challenge.

With the post jam version you've taken the game in the direction of skilled platforming, while the movement is still floaty and it's not possible to aim precisely enough on a keyboard. It's nice that there is an indicator showing the aim direction and that the shard makes a sound when it collides, but I'm not a fan of the other changes. In the end I prefer the jam version, so it's nice that it's still available.

Great game! I go over the changes made in the Post Jame Update in my recent video here:

Loved it during the jam and love the updated version even more. The floatiness is still a bit frustrating but I made it and immediately wanted more.

You should consider not restarting your soundtrack AudioSource on death, that triad becomes more irritating on each death, which could occur quite quickly (and often) on harder levels. There's more to your soundtrack than those three notes.

Maybe more tracks as well ?

Loved it ! (please update it even more :D)

Thanks for the feedback! That is definitely a doable fix haha, I could see how it gets irritating fast. I would love to look into more audio since the track we have right now gets pretty repetitive.

Thanks again! And will do ; )

Well done!

This is definitely an amazing game. The art is absolutely phenomenal and the design of the game is amazing! Would love to see a full version of the game!

Hey, Soulward made it on my GMTK Game Jam Best Of video:

Keep up the great work!

Really clever little game, super cool concept and the mechanics work great! Would really like to see another iteration of this idea, perhaps in a sequel or spiritual successor.

Great work! <3

Character seems floaty. I'd recommended playing with the gravity and jump force values to tighten it up.

(+1)

is it just me, or does a game similar to this one exist? i swear i've seen the teleport thing you throw before

I think it's inspires by Celeste but i like the mechanics with the Shard

There is a game called Daggerhood that I grabbed for super cheap a long time ago where you throw your sword, and then can teleport to it at the press of a button.

I feel like the character movement is a bit slow, other than that, great concept, really like the art style.

continue your game !

Just played through Liked the colour palette found the game play to be smooth and intuitive well done :)

(+1)

This is great! Core gameplay is super fun and reminds me a bit of Celeste.

very good game! the controls feel great

(+1)

It ended too early. I was having lots of fun.

Great mechanic and atmosphere! Would love to see more,  would be a great mobile experience!

Or switch

The mechanic is very nice; it reminds me of Dandara. Especially if the shard cannot be recalled, it would be nice to afford the player with a "laser guide" for better aiming, and to include a button with momentary input to disable movement during aiming so that the player can aim freely without moving. Additionally, I see some comments here with suggestions to improve movement "tightness". I included a video that I think might be useful to explore this idea. Great game jam!!!

Really good concept

(+1)

Beautiful art and elegant controls, there's a lot of potential in this game.

(+1)

Good work!

Awesome

(+1)

Pretty neat central mechanic. The level design and presentation are also solid. Lots of potential here.

(+1)

Would love to play more.

(+1)

Pretty cool base mechanics and nice pixel art & animations

(+1)

This is great.  I feels like a demo for a full game that I would love to play.  If it's not already planned, gamepad support and button mapping would be lovely.  Excellent job.

(+1)

I like the mechanic.  Needs a way to remove the shard.  Many times I was throwing the shard blindly and hoping it would hit something.  making the screen size bigger would help with that.

(+1)

This game has, in my personal opinion a great potencial and idea, I would love to see it finished

(+1)

The art is great and I loved the soundtrack but I felt the game was a bit too slow and controls didn't feel tight enough.

(+1)

Love it. Wish I could move a little tighter and had more control about when my shard stopped, wish I could recall the shard if I had a bad throw (IE, into spikes).

damn this is a good game ur gonna win.
